Kim is the founder of Street Beat Dance Academy. She has worked professionally as a dancer since the age of 14 years, in London and all over the world dancing on tours, in music videos, hotels and fashion shows.
Having trained in traditional dance from the age of two years (ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz) Kim auditioned at age 12 for an Agency; The Show People Academy where she attended Urban Dance Classes. This successful audition open the door to professional dance commissions and by the age of 15yrs she was working regularly as a professional dancer. She then trained at MADD before moving to train at Pineapple, London. In London she trained with many prestigious dancers including; Sisco Gomez, Eddie Morales and Marty Kudelka (Justin Timberlakes choreographer). In 2004 Kim auditioned and became part of TK Spin, an Urban Dance Crew in London with whom she toured performing Urban Shows around the world.
Kim also worked full time as a dancer in a variety of other styles including Cabaret, Showgirl, Jazz, Ballet and Tap. Kim worked as a performer and teacher all over the world in Dubai, Portugal, Tenerife and America working in hotels, corporate events, nightclubs and on Ships.
In 2007 Kim returned from London and set up two companies ‘Street Beat’ and ‘KO Productions’.
Kim began regular weekly sessions. Starting with only ten students the organisation now delivers to over 600 people per week with a team of seven specialist staff, providing quality performing arts training across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire both in schools and the community running an average of over 35 regular sessions per week. Kim has developed a mentoring programme delivered to up-skill teachers in National Curriculum Dance which now spans schools in North Lincolnshire.
KO Productions provides professional entertainment to corporate clients across the UK and in 2014 won ‘Best Entertainment Award’ by MINI.
Kim is also became a teacher for the BATD in 2016 and passes her Level One Tumbling Course in 2017.
Kim has choreographed many professional theatre tours for Tony Peers Productions including Scarborough Spa in 2012 & 2014, Bridlington Spa 2012, The Open Air Theatre 2012 & 2014 and Bill Pearce Tour 2014.
Kim has also been commissioned by Yorkshire Dance to choreograph for their projects including ‘The Big Dance’ ‘Bodies on the Beach’ and ‘Dance Across the North’.
Kim values the need to continue to train and attends regular CPD sessions, classes in London and flies to Los Angeles to keep up to date with dance styles and choreography.
